CONSIDERATION OF SPECIAL CHARTER FOR THE REPATRIATION OF JAMAICAN NATIONALS IN EUROPE AND ASIA

The Embassy of Jamaica in Brussels, on the approval of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, and in conjunction with other Jamaican diplomatic missions in continental Europe and Asia, is exploring the use of a chartered airline service in June 2020, to repatriate nationals who were stranded as a result of the restrictions imposed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As this would be a special arrangement, the cost of airfares would be higher than for regular commercial flights. It would be important to have a fairly large number of passengers in order to reduce the overall cost to each. Once we are assured of the numbers, we will be able to guide you to the agent who will provide details of the cost and point of departure (Amsterdam or Brussels – to be confirmed). We appreciate that the direct flight options for returning to Jamaica are limited at this time.

We have been managing a list of individuals who have been affected and have made direct contact with the Embassy, and have included them in the consideration.

There may be others within the region who are considering a return home, and we invite you to make contact with the Embassy if this opportunity would assist with your plans. Please do so at: consular@jamaica-brussels.be or +32 47 775 05 61.

We are also open to accommodating Europeans currently in Jamaica who may wish to use the return journey home.

We would appreciate any indication of interest as soon as possible.

NOTICE – Reopening of the Embassy of Jamaica on 1st June 2020
