Notice to Clients Regarding Consular Applications

As you would be aware, the staff of the Embassy has been working remotely since 18th March 2020, in keeping with the Belgian regulations instituted as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.  With the imminent re-opening of our office space on 1st June 2020, consistent with the gradual lifting of restrictions, the Embassy would appreciate your usual co-operation as we continue to implement the guidelines set out below to safeguard both your health and that of our staff:

  • An appointment must be scheduled for all consular services that require your physical presence at the Embassy. These services include certification of passport renewals for minor, first-time passport applications, replacement of lost/stolen passport, citizenship applications, witness of signature and emergency certificates. 
  • We are encouraging all applicants requiring legalization services, Certificat de Cotume, Certificate of Concordance and Letter of Nationality, to send their documents by registered mail to the Embassy.  The requested services will be provided and the documents returned via the same medium.
